Welcome to the University of York's Real Ale Society website!
York is one of, if not the greatest cities for real ale in the world and we are the society dedicated to making full use of the hoppy opportunities not only within the city walls but further a field in the surrounding areas as well.
Whether you come along to one, some or all of our events, we can guarantee that you will have fun, taste some awesome beer, maybe see a magnificent pub, find new drinking buddies and maybe even learn something (you are at University after all!). We're not 'beardie weirdies', we're not purists, what we are, is a group of discerning drinkers (male and female) who above all, like to have a good time with a good pint and want you to do the same with us!
